What happens in case of a Guru so powerful and shiny that anyone would follow him? As long as spiritual seekers have no power of discrimination they can easily be influenced by any powerful being who has mastered the laws of nature. They do not know that even demons have powers beyond our understanding. Mighty demons can almost do anything an avatar or pure saint is able to do! Actually they appear like a saint from time to time and pretend to be good. They can materialize (karma-siddhis) objects from nowhere, can appear in any form, can control the elements or read the thoughts of others and have realized the Self but have not realized GOD. A lot of more things are done by them, the only thing they don´t have is compassion.
Yes, no compassion and therefore no bliss-consciousness and that´s why they are called evil forces or "Dark Avatars". They can even generate feelings of simulated bliss patterns within the consciousness of other human beings for a limited time period but demons are not able to grant BLISS itself.

Imitation of the Supreme Lord is the obsession of the ignorant who are only interested in power instead of compassion.

There are evil spirits of minor status and therefore less powerful but nevertheless have a destructive nature. For a better understanding of this phenomenon everyone should study the live of the Italian monk PADRE PIO and the French Saint J.M. VIANNEY. Now we understand that evil spirits can never liberate us as they are not in the stage of grace-consciousness to receive the grace-light the blessing of the Almighty Siddha.
This Supreme Being has only union with humble souls who have supreme compassion (parajivakaruna) and who have annihilated the Ego.

Dear reader all this is no myth and for those who want to go a little bit deeper into it I suggest to study the book "Ocean of Love" the "The Anurag Sagar Of Kabir". It is doubtful that "The anurag sagar" was actually written by Dharamdas the disciple of Kabir but the book covers all the details behind the scene of creation. Some like Juergensmeyer interpret it in a mythological way whereas others see more behind it. It is a eye-opener for people searching for the truth. Kabir, the mystic, shares his past lives and his relationship with God. He explains the deceitful play of Kal or Satan. He also explains the true nature of Kal and other gods and beings on the earth, the nature of true saints and masters, the different paths of spirituality, how to recognize a true saint etc. Kabir was one of the great poet saints and is widely respected as a credible authority in the realm of spirituality. It is not known whether this great mystic has reached the stage of perfection or embodied immortality but he is supposed to have converted his body into a heap of fragrant roses after he passed away in the year 1518. At least he believed in the existence of Kal or Satan whom he experienced as a very clever and intelligent individual with almost supreme power.

Even Paramahansa Yogananda the famous author of the book "Autobiography of a Yogi" has not denied the existence of the evil. He says at the end of his earthly life:

"I was used to believe that Satan was the imagination of man, but now, I know that Satan is a reality. He is a universal and conscious force whose zeal is to tie down all beings at the wheel of illusion."

All this information should encourage the reader to reflect deeply about the truth-consciousness in order to avoid confusion. I try to elucidate the whole matter on a higher universal platform while going beyond all the concepts. According to the ancient masters it is obvious that all beings whether we call them Devas, Demons, Potentates, Angels, Devas, Celestials, Deities, Avatars, Trimurti or Kal have their respective "veils" of ignorance born out of egoism.

So likewise Sathya Sai Baba has his own veils and I will clarify it in the second chapter.

So not only human beings but also celestial beings have their own veils surrounding them. Within these veiled limits, they perform their task, thinking that they alone are the highest. This is nothing but an illusory concept. The Effulgence (God) removes this attitude and guides them through a still higher dimension by tearing away the veils. The soul itself is hidden by seven veils of maya which are removed by the grace of the Effulgence when the Self becomes fully mature to comprehend the ultimate reality. Hereby we transcend the fear from evil spirits or demon as we can identify them as such beings totally veiled by the curtain of ignorance. As soon as one can recognize the divine cosmic plan and accepts the guidance from the supreme source of compassion there will be no fear from negative influence. The Almighty God free from all veils is purity, truth and perfect bliss and beyond all duality. Unfortunately many spiritual seeker conclude from the Vedanta that good and bad is mere illusion and nonexistent (at our plane) and get distorted impression from the spiritual sources on this matter that they get totally confused and finally turn away from the path of compassion. However the seeker should not forget his seven veils still existing no matter what he believes in. But the soul can realize God the infinite and impenetrable divine light while following the path of compassion. Then alone the seven veils and all negativity will disappear step by step.

DESIRE FOR PARASHAKTI FOR THE SAKE OF POWER ALONE IS DARKNESS AND LEADS AWAY FROM GOD!
DESIRE FOR PARASHAKTI FOR THE SAKE OF KARUNA ALONE IS PURE LIGHT AND DIVINE HARMONY LEADING TO GOD!

Sathya Sai Baba is very much engrossed in the power aspect and I will elucidate the consequences in the next chapter.

Now let´s come back to the Guru. In the previous chapter I have extensively elaborated that evil forces or demons are entities without compassion and that almost all the Gurus have still their veils of ignorance manifesting different degrees of divine compassion.

Serving or even praying to beings without compassion is the worst case imaginable. A tragedy indeed. We could fall into the abyss of mental darkness! Avoiding such worst case we have to find out the MOTIVE of a Guru he has for his mission. Now, the final question remains how we could know about the motives of a Guru? The motive alone will show us the real intentions of any spiritual master. To verify this we have to consult the Almighty through compassionate prayers and implore Him for further enlightenment. The boundless benevolent Light, the Lord of Grace will ever protect the soul who whole-heartedly yearns for His guidance. Only then will the Lord remove the veils of ignorance from the humble seeker.
Additionally we have to observe the opulent lifestyle of the so-called Gurus. Nowadays most of these Gurus do not only live in palaces enjoying a comfortable life but they also collect a lot of money in the Western World in order to finance their social projects. From my own experiences from satsangs and meetings which I had with Gurus and spiritual friend I know how important the money is for these Swamis. This becomes clear as these masters are in competition with each other regarding their projects and their spiritual fame.
Of course, it is natural that they deliberately keep it a secret but nevertheless deceive the trusting disciples. However I cannot deny that in certain cases I discovered a symbiotic relationship between the master and some of his admirers. In some cases devotees might force their Young Guru to engage in all kinds of social activities in order to increase his fame. One method to immortalize the master is the utilization of his own name by labeling any of his social projects or ashrams (with his name).
Like Sathya Sai Baba School or Sai Baba Watertank or SSB-Hospital a.s.o.
Reflecting the matter in it´s entirety shows impressively, to the surprise of many that good deeds done by anyone are no evidence for the spiritual purity of a person as long as we do not know about the motive. Likewise we can not conclude from the social project of SSB that these philantropic activities are the result of his selfless disposition or alleged God-realization. Of course only a God-realized being is absolutely pure, humble, selfless and compassionate. For such a Being the motive for all actions are truly divine and has no traits of selfish interest. Some ancient masters were such beings who not even allowed their followers to call them Swami or to take a picture from them in order to worship them. They did not allow others to create a cult around them. Their only concern was to guide mature disciples towards God.

The immortal and blissful Vallalar says:

"MEMBERS OF THE SPIRITUAL COMMUNE; I BOW TO THY FEET AND DECLARE; PLEASE LISTEN! IN MY PATH, CONSIDER ME AS ONE AMONG YOU. WORSHIP ONLY OUR ALMIGHTY DIVINE LORD BUT NOT ME! LIKE THOSE OF TRIVAL PATHS DO NOT BE DELUDED BY SAYING SOMETHING DIFFERENTLY. THE PURE BLISSFUL LORD, SELF-EXISTENCE; THE ABSOLUTE JOY IS THE UNIQUE ONE. UPON HIS WORD, UPON MY WORD, COME HERE AND SEE!

Once I asked Karunakara Guru about the Trimurti and its position in the realm of consciousness and he said:

...."When jeeva the life-force, reaches the Supreme Brahman all actions ceases for it. Also there is neither pleasure nor pain. It is a stage of merging. There is still a higher stage which can only be attained through the Grace of God (Grace-consciousness). The Trimurti Way is not like this. Like a cartwheel the state of creation-existence-destruction is moving in an ever-turning cycle. That is why it is said that even the devas should take a human birth to attain mukti and finally a immortal life of perfection (Bliss). In the Kali-Yuga is the opportunity for that. It is impossible even for the devas to break free from Trimurti Way and move to the higher states of ishvara sannidhanam, daiva sannidhanam, brahma sannidhanam and parabrahma sannidhanam. The devas are immersed in pleasure and tied to it. Therefore they might even cause the physical destruction of each spiritual evolving man in this human world as he approaches the deva stage..... There is only one difference between the aspirant and those who hinder him. The motive of the former is good - he is good in thought and action. The latter do not have any consideration for what is good.
In his "contemporaries" (demon or deva) the aspirant will experience all the power and qualities of the demons. Their attitude towards him will be like that of Hiranyakashipu´s. They would want to make him comply with their wishes. Indescribable is the struggle to overcome his opposition...."
(The deva or demon is opposing the advanced sadhaka who surpasses them spiritually).

Therefore Sathya Sai Baba emphasizes the physical work especially the seva towards him which is of great benefit for his own glory. He is not very fond of devotees performing intense sadhana.
